Christians, Jews, and Muslims Sing “One Love” in Jerusalem

On June 14, 2018, 1,000 Christians, Jews, and Muslims came together to mark the end of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan at the Tower of David Museum in Jerusalem by singing Bob Marley’s “One Love” in English, with interwoven Hebrew and Arabic verses. The midnight event, whose 800 tickets were sold out in six minutes, was a conjoint initiative of Jerusalem.com, the Tower of David Museum, and Koolulam, a social-musical initiative aimed at strengthening the fabric of society and promoting coexistence by convening mass singing events. The event was also held in honor of the Jerusalem visit of Indonesian religious leader Sheik Haji Yahya Cholil Staquf, whose Muslim organization, Nahdlatul Ulama, has more than 60 million members.
